So from last time we know that I had compiled XEN and rebooted the server to be presented with a frozen boot process. Time to hit Google again, after some research I found.....

Kaspersky and slow 2003 Servers

Just a quickie here, but recently we had several Windows 2003 servers performing so sluggish it made one want to take a hammer to the server. After consultation with the wonderful members of spiceworks it was determined that Kaspersky 6.0.1212 had a bug that brought on this poor performance over several months. Updating to the the newest Kasperksy version fixes the whole thing.

As we learned in yesterday's exciting part I, using apt-get to obtain the Debian repository version of XEN was easy but not all it's cracked up to be. I soon found that PCI-passthrough did not function cor.....

In order to have better disaster recovery and redundancy plan we chose to Virtualize our new SBS box, and we chose XEN. Unfortunately the experience wasn't all peace and serenity as the pronunciation of XEN (Pronounced as ZEN) might indicate. On the other hand it wasn't that bad. I prefer to run Debian and....
